I am writing this letter to express my interest in XXX Residency program. Based on the program’s core rotation and research opportunities, I am confident that it would provide the ideal environment to develop my clinical knowledge and skills to reach my pharmacy career.
A variety of opportunities and experiences offered by your institution will allow me to excel as a clinical pharmacist. My current interests include infectious diseases and critical care. With the institution’s outstanding critical care presence and the various preceptors with diverse BPS specializations, this program will prepare me with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a PGY2 residency.
In addition to the diverse set of clinical opportunities offered by this residency program, the work culture and ideals of the pharmacy faculty made a strong impression on me. I had the opportunity to attend an APPE rotation this Fall. During this rotation, I was able to witness the impact of the program’s faculty in challenging the residents to apply for evidence-based medicine. With the exceptional learning opportunities that the program offers, I will have enough skills and experience to become an excellent clinical pharmacist.
Among my recent accomplishments that show my commitment to continued learning and improvement are the following: winning local pharmacy competitions and being selected to represent my school in the national ASHP clinical skills competition. These experiences will allow me to prosper in my next goal of excelling in a residency program.
